To whom it may concern:
I came to The McClintock Piano Course with a limited knowledge of music based on my study of the drums in high school. I had always wanted to play the piano but I didn’t want to spend endless hours doing tedious repetitive exercises and struggling –frustrated — trying to acquire complex difficult skills that seemed impossible to master without years of training and dedicated practice.
Well, much to my surprise and delight, The McClintock Piano Course made it possible for me to learn how to read music and play the piano in a way that was thoroughly enjoyable and fulfilling, and in a relatively short period of time.
With a simple and precise prose that flows like poetry, and with a gentle but firm manner-that is relaxing and truly inspiring, the Course guided me, step-by-step, through a wonderful process of learning that allowed me to be both teacher and student at the same time. Reading the Course and following the crystal clear instructions — proceeding at my own pace — I learned how to read music and perform it on the piano, and in addition, I learned about the spirit behind good music and how to express musicality in my playing.
The McClintock Piano Course really is “A New Experience in Learning” wherein the ego is somehow miraculously by-passed, and the goal of reading music and playing the piano becomes not a stressful endeavor like so much. else in life, but an exciting adventure that achieves its results almost effortlessly.
Of equal importance,, however, are certain “principles” of attention and perception that the Course elucidates and that I have found to be invaluable in many other areas of my life, not the least of which are my studies in graduate school, where I recently returned after more than 20 years.
If music is the universal language, then Lorene McClintock is one of its foremost translators
and teachers, and her Course will enable anyone not only to understand and speak the language but also to be more “in touch” with themselves and with others — thus making the world a better place. I, for one, am eternally grateful and feel that my life has been immeasurably enriched.
